The good enough job concept, as presented in The Good Enough Job 📕 is an alternative to the idealised notion of a dream job, and is inspired by the “good enough” parenting theory of psychoanalyst Donald Woods Winnicott. It suggests that work should not be expected to be a constant source of self-actualisation or fulfillment. Instead, it proposes that a job should be sufficient to provide a livelihood, while allowing an individual to pursue their interests and define their identity outside of work.
